Hello World!

Welcome to the webcomic. Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Gosh, what a smashing Blog he’s put on this site. I’ll simply have to read every post this author makes with every page religiously”…right?

Oh who am I kidding, you fuckers aren’t reading this. OI! YOU! DOWN HERE!!! Yes, You! Scroll down, and left-to-right bitches. Like you’re doing now.

Ok,*cough* for those very meticulous few of you who are actually reading this blog, welcome to the comic. My name is Nicholas, and I am this comic’s Author and Artist. I’ve been cruising the webcomic world and I’ve noticed a decent number of authors include a blog to give comments about the most recent page posted. Ergo, I have opted to have a blog of my own so I can do this only a fraction of the time. I mostly intend to type fluffy nonsense at you, but I’ll at least try to make it relevant or topical fluffy nonsense.

All right, seeing as that this is technically the first page (although it’s really just a title page), I kind of feel obliged to tell some sort of story about how I started this project.

*Thinks for a second*

That’s boring though. Instead, let’s talk about…Lar DeSouza. About a year ago I was at Anime North in a panel ran by Lar (for those of you who don’t know who he is: He is the artist for Looking for Group and Least I Could do. Also, welcome to the Internet), and I asked him “do you have any advice for aspiring web comic artists or authors?” Needless to say, Lar had a lot of great advice, but one thing in particular sat with me really well. He said that one of the most important things was to not be afraid to make mistakes. To just go ahead, take your best shot, and if what you do sucks, then it sucks. Run with your guns blazing, evaluate your work, change what could be better, and then rinse and repeat. It’s better to try and learn than to be afraid of what others might say. The internet is full of self important trolls that won’t be happy with your work regardless.

So, here we are. This webcomic is being made mostly for my own enjoyment, and I hope you enjoy it too.

Nick Talks Too Much

posted by Angela Dalton on 2010-05-17 16:35:50

I have been working with Nick on this comic for about two years.. I think. End result is that is feels like forever... (sort of in a good way). We have argued. Spilled blood and drank tea over these pages. There has been much erasing and hurt feelings over acceptable content and unacceptable. (For the Record - Necromantic Literature WILL happen someday and be popular).
This is not so say that I have not enjoyed working on this. Because I have enjoyed it immensely.
Despite our varrying opinions of artistic licence and the shape of human anatomy (If you don't like the boobs - don't look at me folks. I tried), I still enjoy this comic and the characters very much.
Each character has grown on me - some like a bad case of genital warts... Others more like an adorable kitten shaped tumour. But they come together and have managed to gel into a rather invigorating cast. Even if they only serve as fuel( for my subtle plots.

That said - I hope all of the readers enjoy this comic.
And that they appreciate my ultimate goal of driving Nick insane (with or without Dan's help).

The comment page is laid over the actual comic. How do eliminate, move (or *) teh comments so I can appreciate the art Nicholas worked so hard on?
